Made by Katie Green
Made By Katie Green is a contemporary dance company using dance, text and music to respond to places where you would not usually expect to find a dance performance. Most recently we have done this through our Dancing in Museums, Dancing in Caves, Dancing in Libraries and Dance and Archaeology projects.
We are interested in telling stories about what it means to be human, what this has meant throughout history and how what has happened in the past affects us now. We want to create vibrant, memorable, moving work, and to do this in all kinds of places for a wide range of different audiences.
Alongside our performance projects, our participation work empowers other people to respond to the world around them through movement, including collaborating with community groups to shape their own creative responses to their local heritage, mentoring young choreographers and working in primary schools to develop and advocate for an arts-based learning approach to teaching the core curriculum.
We also play an active role in facilitating The Imagination Museum dance/heritage network - a hub, online and in person, for sharing events, opportunities, experiences and resources exploring ways of moving in museums.
