About The Imagination Museum: Mayflower 400 project:
We are thrilled to announce the first performances of The Imagination Museum: Mayflower 400 will take place in Gainsborough in May 2019: https://imaginationmuseum.co.uk/blog/2019-03-28-first-imagination-museum-mayflower-400-performances-of-the-project . It has taken a lot of work to get to this point, with a wonderful team of partners and collaborators, and we’re so happy to be able to start to bring the project to new audiences, and to do so through a programme of free performances and workshops.
The Imagination Museum: Mayflower 400 is a dance piece exploring the stories of the passengers aboard the Mayflower in 1620, including those, such as the women and children on board, whose stories are seldom told. It is a piece about determination and the extraordinary things it makes ordinary people do and is part of a three-year project leading up to the 2020 anniversary of the sailing of the Mayflower.
About our Crowdfunding campaign:
We are fortunate to have been successful in receiving a grant through the Arts Council’s Strategic Touring programme for this project. However, this grant is conditional on us raising an additional £70,000, including £4,000 through Crowdfunding.
So as of the 2nd April 2019, we're asking for your help to raise that crucial £4,000 that will unlock our grant from the Arts Council and have a massive impact on our project, specifically enabling us to create a series of ‘Celebration Performances’ designed and performed by members of the local communities with which we’ll be working over the next 2 years.
We only have about 6 weeks to raise our total, so please donate what you can by visiting our Crowdfunding page here: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/the-imagination-museum-mayflower-400-project or help us to raise awareness about the project, using the following template posts to share our campaign with your networks, particularly in Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Hampshire and Plymouth. Thank you so much for your help in reaching our target!
