From Landscape to Portrait

In 2012, Katie was commissioned by the Royal Academy of Arts in London to create a new site-specific dance piece in response to Chris Wilkinson's Annenberg courtyard installation as part of the London Festival of Architecture (LFA) 2012 and Big Dance 2012.

Working collaboratively with a group of 10 dancers, including several recent graduates, Katie created From Landscape to Portrait within two weeks in June 2012, drawing on the LFA theme for 2012, 'the playful city', and also taking inspiration from the music of Bach and the portraiture of Sir Joshua Reynolds.
