'Theatrically Re-imagining Collections' Seminar Day - UCL Museums/Impropera, 26th April 2016

​Yesterday I attended the UCL Museums/Impropera Symposium 'Theatrically Re-imagining Collections' (#museumsreimagined). It was a great event, featuring some examples of best practice from Punchdrunk Enrichment/National Maritime Museum, British Museum/Royal Shakespeare Company, Do not adjust your stage/National History Museum, National Museum of Wales/Theatre na nOg and Battersea Arts Centre/Creative Museums, giving me lots of food for thought and raising some interesting questions.

We are thrilled that we have been supported through a Paul Hamlyn Foundation 'Explore and Test' grant to develop the work we have been doing with schools, museums and heritage sites since 2013, contributing to the delivery of the primary school history curriculum using dance.

Consultation event: rural infrastructure and the distribution of great art

On the 7th March I attended an Arts Council England (South East) consultation event at Sheringham Little Theatre. Chaired by Hedley Swain, with Sir Peter Bazalgette, Amy Vaughan and Debs Butler from the Arts Council as well as many representatives from arts organisations, libraries, museums and local government, the discussion focussed on rural infrastructure and the distribution of great art, including the special part played by museums and libraries.
