We had an 'all girls day' in the studio yesterday, with Rob away working with Wired Aerial Theatre for the day. Our intern Kate took some photos of Jessamin, Lucy and Hannah developing material inspired by an excavated skull, as well as some movement for our tour-guide characters.
At the end of our third week of creation, our intern Kate has put together another short video collecting together some snippets of material from our rehearsals for The Imagination Museum.
Last week was our second of 2 weeks spent rehearsing for the Dancing in Museums project in Lincolnshire, hosted by the wonderful, welcoming Terry O'Toole Theatre/artsNK. It was a busy week; company dancer Carl Harrison spent his last days with us before beginning work with Punchdrunk and we were very fortunate to welcome Rob Guy, who will be taking over from Carl. Apprentice dancer Hannah Wintie, who has the unenviable task of understudying all the roles in The Imagination Museum, also joined us at the beginning of the week; theatre director Tom Cornford joined us on Tuesday and Wednesday and we were very pleased to see our open company classes so well-attended.
My name is Kate Thomas and I’m the 2013 intern with Made By Katie Green. This opportunity arose from Katie working in partnership with Enterprise@Lincoln, a centre working alongside the University of Lincoln, to support and give opportunities to recent graduates. I was lucky enough to be hired for the next three months to work alongside Katie and her company during the Dancing in Museums project.
